John Robertson wins the Patron's Award

Congratulations to Piper John Robertson for winning the 2008 Patron's award. The award was announced by Gordon Maitland, Patron to the Hills District Pipe Band at the Annual Ball held back in September.
John joined the Australian Pipe Band Association in early 2008 with the view of competing in a solo piping tournament. He has been given the opportunity to try out and compete with Liverpool City Pipe Band (LCPB), the same band that HDPB Pipe Major John Post competes with. John Robertson competed with LCPB on the 2nd of November 2008 and looks forward to competing solo in the near future. John thanks Hills District Pipe Band for the opportunity to compete with LCPB but stresses that the HDPB will always be his first passion.
