ANZAC Day

The Hills District Pipe Band participate in severel events on ANZAC Day:

Martin Place Dawn Service

4:00am

The band will set the tone for the Dawn service, playing a set of slow air tunes before the service commences at 4:30am.

Our Pipe Major, John Post, will play The Lament and the Australian lament, Gallipoli, during the wreath laying of the service.

Following the service the band will reform to play a set of tunes to herald the day.

Sydney Street March

9:00am

The band will participate in the ANZAC Day street march alongside current servicemen and veterans.

Scottish Act of Remembrance

12:30pm

After the ANZAC Day Street march all pipe band’s form a massed bands and march together back along Elizabeth Street to Martin Place, where wreaths are laid on behalf of the Scottish clans.

Glenorie RSL March and Service

3:15pm

The band will lead a street march in Glenorie to the war memorial at the Glenorie RSL. Our Pipe Major will play during the wreath laying, and the band play a set of tunes in the beer garden and throughout the RSL after the service.

Homebush/Strathfield ANZAC Service

The Hills District Pipe Band will attend the ANZAC Commemoration Service with Cumberland RSL.

Our Pipe Major will play during the wreath laying, and the band will play a selection of tunes after the service.
